Opening Session
Lyn Heward, Former President of Creative Content, Cirque du Soleil
The Spark: Igniting the Creative Fire That Lives Within Us All

What exemplifies "Expect the Unexpected" better than the breathtaking performances of Cirque du Soleil? Cirque du Soleil is widely recognized as one of the most innovative and creative companies in the world today. The person who developed and managed that creative fire for much of the company's history is Lyn Heward.

Listen as Heward takes us behind the scenes of the world famous Cirque du Soleil to explore the nature of creativity and innovation. She will provide both practical suggestions, as well as the inspiration to find and develop the creative spark that lives within us all. Making brilliant use of images and video from Cirque du Soleil's groundbreaking shows, she will lead you through a succession of stories, anecdotes, and examples that are both instructional and motivational.

Touching on a wide range of issues relevant to our industry—from risk-taking, to leadership, teamwork, and product development—this presentation is perfect for CAMEX 2007, as we explore the competitive pressure to be more creative and innovative in our stores of the future. Heward will help you find the creative spark and zeal for innovation that can mean the difference between success or failure in today's business world.

Mega Session
A Conversation with Frank McCourt

You won't want to miss this Mega Session, featuring best-selling author Frank McCourt. Born in 1930 in Brooklyn, NY, to Irish immigrant parents, McCourt grew up in Limerick, Ireland, and returned to America in 1949. You probably know him best as the critically acclaimed author of Angela's Ashes, which won the Pulitzer Prize, the National Book Critics Circle Award, and the L.A. Times Book Award. Most recently, McCourt published Teacher Man, a memoir of the thirty years he spent teaching in New York City high schools. McCourt's imaginative and unconventional approach to teaching will inspire you to take a fresh look at the way you approach your store's operations.
