Concept - Challenge - Checklist

Transforming the Industry!

The critical issues and dynamic changes continue to impact our industry. And the CAMEX educational conference is designed to offer you education and solutions you can use to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow. For 2012, you will find a balance between higher-level, strategic and solutions-oriented “core content” learning experiences. For YOUR part, we need you to commit, come prepared, and engage.

The Concept—CAMEX “Pathways” Guide Higher-level Learning

The 2012 conference will again use the Pathways concept to guide development and selection of sessions. The four Pathways are:

  • Core Operations: Traditional topics at advanced levels
  • Business Solutions: Creating new opportunities and efficiencies
  • Industry Evolutions: What’s next and what you need to know about it
  • People Strategies: How to do right by our people and get the best from them

You will also find other coding to help you find the right programs for you, including the categories from the “College Store of 2015” research study findings (Customers, Capabilities, Communications, Curriculum, Services, Connections, and Frequency), as well as the Competency Domains and Levels of Experience we’ve used for many years.

The Challenge—Make Your Commitment to Learning Today!

The 2012 CAMEX Program Committee has worked on YOUR behalf to create a timely, engaging, and compelling educational program. Now it is YOUR turn—consider the following to help maximize your learning experience at CAMEX 2012:

  1. Take control of your own learning. Prepare for your CAMEX learning experience.
  2. Attend sessions and events with an open mind. Push yourself out of your “comfort zone”!
  3. Engage in learning and social activities with the goal of receiving new knowledge and enriching experiences.
  4. Focus on the application and scalability of ideas, processes, and practices you learn about at CAMEX to your operation. Don’t focus on why you CAN’T do it.
  5. Document ideas and goals that you want to implement in your store upon your return.
  6. Make a commitment to follow through on the goals you set for yourself during CAMEX 2012.

Come Prepared and Ready to Engage

There will be four blocks of 75-minute, concurrent Learning Lab sessions this year. The new name reflects a commitment to immerse you in meaningful programs that provide fresh content, new ideas, and engaging learning activities. All Learning Labs will provide audience engagement so you will leave with action plans, checklists, idea inventories, and more.
